JW Marriott Marquis Dubai to be World’s Tallest Hotel
By Forbes Travel Guide Editor Jordan Lawson

      October 9, 2012

The JW Marriott Marquis Dubai is about to take hotel stays to new heights by becoming the tallest hotel in the world. With 72 floors, the hotel will stand at 1,164 feet, just 85 feet shorter than New York’s Empire State Building.

As the world’s tallest dedicated hotel space, the Dubai palace will have 1,608 rooms as well as nine restaurants and five entertainment spots and lounges. The Vault, the hotel’s most extreme lounge, will sit on the top at the 71st and 72nd floors.

The Saray Spa, a 16,000 square-foot paradise, also joins the views, rooms and restaurants. And if you’re looking to have a meeting in the planet’s tallest hotel, there are 24 meeting spaces and two ballrooms to accommodate your needs.

The JW Marriott Marquis Dubai’s grand opening will be in February, but 807 rooms and some of the restaurants will open to guests during the hotel’s soft opening in November.
