Spilling down a caldera in Oia, Santorini, Andronis Luxury Suites is built around spectacular views. Its traditional whitewashed jigsaw-like structures have curved archways and private infinity and cave pools, all strategically positioned to face the sparkling Aegean. And its alfresco clifftop Lycabettus Restaurant — a dining destination — seems to jut out into the sea.
Andronis Luxury Suites’ Instagram feed showcases even more of the photogenic property’s natural beauty — it’s an endless scroll of breathtaking shots of sunsets, sea vistas from the pool and meals overlooking the water. It’s why the Santorini hideaway won Forbes Travel Guide’s 2022 Hotel Instagram of the Year accolade during the annual Star Awards.
To find a winner, Forbes Travel Guide’s editorial department culled five nominees (which included Bulgari Resort Bali, Casa Angelina in the Amalfi Coast, Four Seasons Resort Seychelles and Kulm Hotel St. Moritz) from the highest-performing luxury hotel posts on FTG’s own Instagram account in 2021. Then readers and followers selected their favorite feed in an online survey. The boutique hotel took the top prize for curating a feed that radiates personality, spurs wanderlust and has an overall stunning aesthetic.
In honor of the third annual winner (Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi earned the title last year and Montage Los Cabos in 2020), we take you on a guided tour of the most Instagrammable locales at Andronis:
There’s no better way to start the day than with a floating breakfast in your private pool while looking at the sapphire sea.
The 33 suites and villas are all unique. The Honeymoon Suite with Indoor Plunge Pool has a shaded balcony for when you want a reprieve from the strong Santorini sun.
Relax in a striking outdoor hot tub at this Honeymoon Suite, which also features two terraces.
While every suite and villa comes with a pool or hot tub, the luxury hotel offers a main infinity swimming pool with daybeds, loungers and a bar.
Watch the sun sink into the horizon from the 646-square-foot terrace at the Sunset Villa Socrates with some Greek wine and cheese.
Get a glimpse of the caldera as you soak in the Jacuzzi in the Premier Suite.
Gaze at the stars and the illuminated cliffside from the glowing heated infinity pool on the spacious 700-square-foot terrace in the Sunset Villa Aristotelis.
Loungers await on the balcony of the tranquil Exclusive Suite, which also is home to a glowing infinity pool.
The Sunset Villa Socrates is secluded on a hill — it’s a minute’s stroll from the main property and has its own entrance. Rest in the soothing bedroom, which has views of the alfresco infinity pool.
