Forbes Travel Guide unveiled its 2019 Star Awards on February 20, revealing impressive growth in both tried-and-true favorite cities and newly added destinations.
Twenty one new Five-Star hotels made classic cities like Manila (The Peninsula Manila), Vancouver (Fairmont Pacific Rim) and Paris (Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel) shine a little brighter, while places such as Kuala Lumpur (Crockfords at Resorts World Genting), Lisbon (Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon) and Istanbul (Raffles Istanbul) clinched their first top honors.
Stellar showings across the globe also can be found at the Four-Star level. The 49 new hotels in the category span the map from Perth’s COMO The Treasury, Park Hyatt Saigon and Sao Paulo’s Palácio Tangará, to Dublin’s The K Club, Montana’s The Resort at Paws Up and Oman’s The Chedi Muscat.
Even more variety can be found in the 62 new Recommended properties. From The St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay Resort and Anguilla’s Zemi Beach House Resort & Spa to Alcron Hotel Prague and Shangri-La Hotel, Doha, Forbes Travel Guide inspectors found exemplary accommodations all over the world.
