For many couples, hosting a wedding at a luxury hotel makes perfect sense. After all, who isn’t looking for a gorgeous property, amenities aplenty and stellar service on their special day?
Boston has the bonus of offering several historic spots in which to get married and celebrate with friends and family. From classically elegant venues to waterfront scene-stealers, these are a few of our favorite places to say “I do” around the city.
Boston Park Plaza
Thanks to a $100 million renovation in 2016, this historic 1927 Back Bay property — already a fabulous place to hold events — is better than ever, with a host of attractive spaces and amenities for couples.
A favorite venue is the Grand Ballroom, which features floor-to-ceiling windows, ornate balconies and breathtaking original Baccarat crystal chandeliers, and can hold an astonishing 2,200 people.
Starting at $192 per person, the hotel’s opulent wedding packages include a dedicated event planner, a private bridal party room with hors d’oeuvres and beverage service, a catered reception and two nights in the bridal suite for the newlyweds. A custom-designed wedding cake and a champagne toast are also part of the package.
Taj Boston
Boasting a stellar location across the street from the Public Garden — a hugely popular place for couples who like to take advantage of the gorgeous green space for photos — this Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star property has served as an in-demand landmark for nuptials since the 1920s.
Inside, the hotel has an elegant Old World feel, making a wedding at the Taj a sophisticated affair. While every event is customizable, they all include a slew of attractive amenities, including a dedicated onsite coordinator, a dressing room for the wedding party, a private photography room, a custom-sized dance floor and a suite for newlyweds on their wedding night.
A variety of spaces are available to host most any size crowd, from the intimate Back Bay Room with a wood-burning fireplace, to the 250-seat Grand Ballroom, overlooking the Public Garden. Prices start at $272 per person, with taxes, house charge and gratuities included.
The Langham, Boston
For a classically elegant wedding, this historic Four-Star hotel provides a picture-perfect setting. Formerly the Federal Reserve Bank, the downtown property is a national architectural landmark and offers several unique spaces in which to celebrate your big day.
A magnificent affair can be had in the Wilson Ballroom, where vaulted ceilings and sparkling chandeliers add a glamorous glow to your reception — the venue can also be divided in two for more intimate gatherings.
If you want a more modern feel for your ceremony, the Esplanade provides floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the beautiful Norman B. Leventhal Park at Post Office Square.
Prices start at $195 per person, and the hotel can accommodate up to 250 guests, depending on the room and type of event, such as a seated dinner or reception.
Fairmont Copley Plaza
This historic Forbes Travel Guide Recommended hotel provides one of the most glamorous places in Boston for exchanging vows. More than 100 years old, the property’s ornate architecture and classic design make it a favorite with celebrities and jetsetters as well as with locals who love the iconic property.
Couples can choose to tie the knot in a variety of ornate settings. The intimate Venetian Room is ideal for smaller gatherings while the palatial Grand Ballroom, with its sparkling crystal chandeliers and 30-foot-high ceilings, is just the backdrop for a fairytale wedding.
The hotel can accommodate up to 450 of your closest friends and family for your reception with prices ranging from $200 to $350 per person. Fairmont Copley Plaza’s array of preferred vendors makes ironing out the details even simpler.
Function spaces are sold on a food and beverage minimum, which varies depending on the day of the week and time of the year. Ceremony fees range from $1,500 to $3,500.
Boston Harbor Hotel
Right on the waterfront, this elegant Five-Star stay delivers an unbeatable setting for photos, and because it has interiors as spectacular as the views, choosing which venue at the property to hold the event can be tough.
There’s the large Wharf Room, with 19-foot ceilings and sweeping harbor vistas; the Atlantic Room, with its wood-paneled walls and floor-to-ceiling windows; and then there’s the Pavilion, an amazing domed space with walls of windows and 360-degree views — an ethereal spot for your ceremony. Wedding packages at the property begin at $258 per guest.
To make your wedding day even more memorable, the hotel has partnered with renowned designer Jimmy Choo to provide you with a stylish something borrowed — a pair of haute high heels the bride will pick out beforehand during an exclusive after-hours store consultation at the Jimmy Choo Boutique in Copley Place.
