A Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel, restaurant or spa is a property that is truly exceptional, and provides a memorable experience through virtually flawless service and the finest of amenities. Forbes Travel Guide’s incognito inspectors visit Five-Star properties at least twice, on two separate visits by different inspectors and at different times of the year, and explore every aspect of a property’s service offerings, facilities and unique attributes to derive a score that makes up the Five-Star property’s Star Rating. There are currently only 59 Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotels, 25 Five-Star restaurants and 31 Five-Star spas in the thousands of properties we visit in North America, China and Singapore. A property has to achieve this level of excellence throughout every month and every season in order to maintain its Star Rating, and must be open for at least six months prior to each year’s Star Awards.
