The higher you go, the better the view — and in a ski town, getting higher doesn’t require much work. Head to any of Park City’s three ski resorts, which include Deer Valley, Park City Mountain and Canyons, and hop on the chairlift, where a five- to 10-minute lift ride will reward your efforts with panoramic views of the Wasatch Mountains to the west and the Uinta Mountains to the east.
If chairlifts aren’t your ideal mode of transportation, drive to the top of Empire Pass in the summer (it’s closed in the winter), where valley views of Park City and neighboring Heber City seem minuscule in comparison to the rolling mountains that crawl toward the horizon to the north and south.
For a unique twist on Park City views, a morning hot-air balloon ride offers an aerial glimpse of this peaceful town. A number of hot-air balloon companies in Park City provide intimate or group rides, which often depart at sunrise.
