Why You Should Visit Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas Now
      By Correspondent Jaydine Sayer

      October 23, 2012

What: Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas is a gleaming luxury tower that offers refuge from the non-stop gaming and gambling on the Strip. The Five-Star hotel is an immaculate and modern homage to 1930s Shanghai, with red and gold tones, rich patterns and Asian-inspired décor masterminded by prolific interior designer and Forbes Travel Guide Tastemaker Adam Tihany. Guest rooms have thoughtful details such as pass-through valet closets, huge spa-like bathrooms and a centralized touch pad that enables you to control the lights, shades, TV and even lock your door.

Where: A 10-minute drive from McCarran International Airport, Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas is located in the urban resort development CityCenter and is connected to the opulent Crystals shopping center. The floor-to-ceiling windows put the lights of Vegas and the majestic landscape just beyond the city on display.

When: The luxury hotel, just like Sin City, is an ideal destination year-round (although we’d avoid spending too much time outdoors in the summer when temperatures often top 100 degrees). Head to the hotel’s Tea Lounge in the afternoon for an herbal boost and then to Twist by Pierre Gagnaire in the evening. The Five-Star restaurant sparkles at night and not just from all the lights on the Strip; its modern takes on French cuisine are the star.

Why: While Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas has both impeccable service and a sense of luxurious calm throughout, The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas is the hotel’s true oasis in the desert. The Five-Star spa facilities were designed to usher in a state of serenity and include an ice fountain and experience showers, heated chairs to soothe muscles, a steam room, a dry sauna and a vitality pool.
