When visiting Rio de Janeiro, many travelers crowd the top of Mount Corcovado to snap a photo of the famous Christ the Redeemer statue with his outstretched arms. But another Instagram-worthy scene sits at the base of the mountain.
Seek out Parque Lage, a public park with nearly 130 acres of gardens, trails, lakes and a mansion-turned-art-school. Photographer Marina Berger (known as @Marineira) captured the beauty of the park’s architecture and surroundings in our most popular post of last month. And if you look closely at the photo’s upper-right-hand corner, you’ll even see the art deco sculpture perched on the edge of the mountain.
