5 Reasons Why We Love The Spa at Beverly Wilshire
      By Correspondent Lanee Lee

A hotel of distinction since it opened in 1928, Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills (a Four Seasons Hotel) has been a respite for those who appreciate the finer things for nearly a century. It’s where countless cultural icons, such as Steve McQueen and Elvis Presley, have even called home.

Five-Star The Spa at Beverly Wilshire is also where celebrities and notables flock for award-show preparation and pampering. The facility spans more than 8,000 square feet and includes nine treatment rooms (seven with in-room showers). It’s also the only spa in the United States offering the Natura Bissé Diamond Life Infusion Facial.

Beyond the calming energy of the facility and welcoming staff, we took a closer look at the distinctive qualities of one of L.A.’s top spa escapes. Here are our five favorite things:

      Customized treatments
You’re not like anyone else — so, your spa experience shouldn’t be cookie-cutter, either. This philosophy is embraced at The Spa at Beverly Wilshire, where the staff prides itself on going “off book” and improvising, according to what your specific needs are, be it getting ready for the red carpet or simply relaxing after a long day.

Don’t be shy. If you don’t see exactly what you want on the menu, ask and you shall receive. The aestheticians are all well-versed in the spa’s offerings, so they can customize services or mix and match treatments to create the desired experience.

      Exclusive anti-aging technology
Finally, there’s actually a therapy that visibly erases years off your skin in only one treatment. Welcome to the wonderful world of the Elemis Biotic Machine, a cutting-edge device that smoothes and brightens skin instantly.

The Beverly Wilshire spa is home to the world’s only Elemis Biotic Machine with five modalities, to suit different skin types and areas, built into it. Both body and facial Elemis Biotic treatments are available.

      Celebrity beauty treatments for all
The multi-million-dollar jewelry, personal stylists and couture gowns during awards season seem pretty far-fetched to most of us, but at The Spa at Beverly Wilshire, the pre-show beauty prep is available to all.

Designed for a particular VIP client who wanted maximum results in minimum time, the signature Diamond Rose Facial combines the latest in innovations, both with techniques, such as five types of exfoliation, and rose- and diamond-infused products.

Another popular Hollywood-approved therapy, ideal for a wedding or gala, is the Targeted Toning Treatment. This brand-new option homes in on specific parts of the body based on the dress you’ll be wearing.

For example, if you’ll be donning a backless and sleeveless number, the treatment will focus on toning and smoothing your sides, back, shoulders and arms.

      Rooftop pool
Whether you want a snack from The Pool Bar & Cafe or are simply looking to soak up some sun, you can step just outside of the spa in your robe out onto the rooftop pool, which is tucked just outside of the spa in the Beverly Wing.

It’s the ultimate outdoor escape from a full day of indoor relaxation.

      Gifted staff
Most of the spas we visit have extremely proficient staff with top-notch qualifications. However, it’s rare that a member of a spa’s staff leaves such a lasting impression that you wish you could be her friend at the end of the treatment.

After 17 years and counting at The Spa at the Beverly Wilshire, Gillian Garcia says, “it’s her calling to do what she does” and loves to help people feel their best. Not only does she go the extra mile to ensure you’re happy and well cared for, she’s also extremely knowledgeable about her industry.

In fact, most of the treatments (many unique to The Spa at Beverly Wilshire) were created by Garcia.
