5 Things We Love About The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles
      By Correspondent Lanee Lee

As the first skyscraper built in downtown L.A. in more than 20 years, The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles made a splash when it opened its doors in 2010. Located at L.A. Live (an entertainment complex of restaurants, concert venues and a movie theater), the 54-floor Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel — shared by sister property Forbes Travel Guide Recommended J.W. Marriott Los Angeles, L.A. Live — remains a hot spot for both locals and visitors.

When you’re not taking in a concert or a Lakers game at the Staples Center across the street, spend some time exploring the luxurious lodging. While we could go on endlessly talking about the 123 rooms and suites’ soaking tubs and brilliant views, we want to spotlight five other things we recently discovered at The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles that make it so special:

      The White Light
The first full-service sanctuary in downtown L.A., The Ritz-Carlton Spa soothes the soul as you enter an ethereal world of glimmering white. This billowy, dream-like décor transports you to another dimension where stress simply does not exist.

A full menu of Hollywood glam services is available at both the spa and its salon, but some of the most requested offerings include the age-defying Red Carpet Radiance facial and the Champagne & Shimmer body treatment, an ultra-luxe experience that ends with a dusting of 24-karat gold.

Tip: If you’re an L.A. County resident, ask for the local spa specials.

      Sky-High Noshes
For one of the most awe-inspiring skyline views around, WP24 by Wolfgang Puck, located on the 24th floor, is sublime. Whether you’re grabbing a few starters and drinks before a show or celebrating a special occasion with a multi-course meal, WP24’s modern Asian cuisine (think crispy suckling pig and Peking duck) is delicious and beautifully presented. And it’s no wonder — the menu was created by Puck, one of L.A.’s most iconic celebrity chefs.

      Club Perks
It pays to be a part of the club sometimes, especially at The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles. Located on the 23rd floor, The Ritz-Carlton Club Level features an exclusive lounge that offers meals and snacks throughout the day as well as premium wine and beers, complimentary business services, a dedicated concierge and even interesting weekend activities, like live music or a local art exhibition.

      Heli-Love
Ready to pop the question in a spectacular way? This elegant hotel has you covered with the opportunity to propose on L.A.’s highest helipad.

Situated 650 feet above the city, this sky-high spot’s vistas are almost as stellar as the ring you’ll be unveiling. On a clear day, the swoon-worthy sights stretch from the Pacific Ocean to the Hollywood sign. Plus, The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles has an ample menu of rare, celebratory bubbly to toast the moment.

The 26th floor is home to a sweet, petite heated pool that comes complete with cabanas, cool furnishings and a bar. The scene is set here for an Instagrammable afternoon — don a floppy hat, grab a frozen mojito and be sure to frame the epic cityscape in the background.

If you’re looking for a sun-drenched vinyasa, make sure to ask about yoga classes. They’re usually held at the fitness center, but some sessions take place poolside or even on the heli-pad.
