Hot-air balloons drifting above the rocky valleys of Turkey, bright buildings tucked into the coast in the Italian Riviera and snowy, charming villages in Switzerland captured the attention of Forbes Travel Guide’s Instagram followers in 2016.
But the scene that earned the most double taps was the above vivid image of Amsterdam. Photographer Hatice Korkmaz (who goes by the Instagram handle @kardinalmelon) snapped the shot of the Netherlands’ capital city at its most colorful. “Amsterdam is always very photogenic, but my favorite season is autumn,” Korkmaz told us. “Canals become more colorful and more romantic.”
