Believe it or not, October 15 marks the beginning of ski season for many resorts. If you’re planning a trip to the slopes, here’s what you need to know before any playing in the snow.
The Little Nell — a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel and Aspen’s only true ski-in, ski-out property — will debut a new restaurant on Thanksgiving Day. The Nell’s fine dining Montagna Restaurant will make way for Element 47, which will have a glass wine wall and a menu divided into four elements (veggies, fish, poultry, beef/game). Element 47 also will connect to the lively Montagna Bar.
The Four-Star Montage Deer Valley is the newest addition to luxury hotels in Park City’s Deer Valley, and this sleek spot has ski-in, ski-out access and is in close proximity to three of the area’s high-speed lifts. We’re fans of the top-notch ski concierge services that include boot warming and an onsite outfitter.
And while the West has some spectacular skiing, you shouldn’t rule out the mountains in the East. The luxe properties near Stowe, Vt., offer stellar winter experiences, too.
