If you’ve resolved to focus on good health in 2013, then you’ll love the getaway package The Greenbrier has cooked up for fitness-minded guests through March 27, 2013.
The Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel’s winter wellness package (starting at $350 per night) will not only provide you with a luxurious superior room, a $150 resort credit and $15 to spend at The Greenbrier’s Casino Club, but will give you access to an internal medicine physician for a preventative physical exam at The Greenbrier Clinic.
After the one- to one-and-a-half-hour visit, you will participate in an interview with the physician to discuss your nutrition and results from your pap smear, mammogram and/or chest x-rays, as well as a plan for a healthier lifestyle to address any issues you might have. Those aged 40 to 49 will also receive a bone density scan, and those aged 50 and above will get an additional abdominal ultrasound and a colonoscopy.
So, will your insurance pay for this deluxe doctor’s appointment? Here’s how it works: You’ll have to pay for 20 percent of the doc’s visit up front, and the remainder will be billable to insurance — just be sure the deductible is met before the visit. The Greenbrier Clinic is a Medicare, Tricare and West Virginia Public Employees Insurance Agency participating provider; if you have other coverage, you’ll have to pay out-of-network.
