For the love of gourd, there are some amazing things happening with Turkey Day leftovers right now. From pumpkin to butternut squash, ‘tis the season for sipping on serious seasonal libations at bars and restaurants around L.A. Sure, the city may not have the typical fall foliage colors or crisp bite in the air, but we can still celebrate with the bounty of vegetal flavors. Here are our favorite cucurbitaceous (fancy scientific classification for the squash family of veggies) cocktails around the city.

Kick back and enjoy a fall version of the classic Old Fashioned at the hotel’s Cast Lounge. The tantalizing tipple includes Bulleit bourbon, pumpkin spice syrup and Stoughton’s bitters and is garnished with a cinnamon stick.

      Squash’d, Rathskeller
Utilizing jujube, a strange and wonderful type of Chinese date, this cocktail of vodka, pumpkin syrup, jujube shrub served in a martini glass and topped with fresh nutmeg is head bartender Brady Weise’s toast to two seasonal flavors. Try the drink for yourself in this speakeasy-style underground bar below Der Wolfskopf.

      Butternut Squash O.F., Little Dom’s
Gourd glory abounds in the Italian hipster eatery thanks to its seasonal Old-Fashioned of squash-infused Sazerac rye, Giffard banana liqueur and a dash of walnut bitters with an orange peel garnish.

Featuring house-infused vanilla vodka, lime juice, ginger, apple brandy and pumpkin butter with a rim of crushed graham crackers, Fig & Olive’s martini is what James Bond would order to de-stress after a long day of holiday shopping.

      Pie One On, Gracias Madres
Beyond the creative Mexican vegan eats on offer, Gracias Madres’ cocktails, designed by beverage director Jason Eisner, are worthy of a visit. Pie One On features tequila, homemade pepita pumpkin butter, port wine, lemon demerara syrup and bitters. It really does taste like pumpkin pie in a glass

      Pumpkin Spice, The Bellwether
A new-ish Studio City restaurant from two alums of the Father’s Office gastropub, The Bellwether offers a fall favorite that mixes up spice (pumpkin puree) and everything nice (bourbon, Grand Marnier and orange bitters).
